This happened to me last year. i was in my house and the horn just started to go off.after i got it to shut off the horn stopped wroking. anyway is it still going off? if the horn died it is probably that the horn is shot or there is a bad wire that conncets to the horn button. that was the problems with mine anyway.

I had a similar problem on my '89 RS. When I'd go around a corner sometimes it would go off. The piece that you actually press to make the horn work was loose. It would slide and the contacts would hit, as if you were pressing the horn. I just pulled that part off, and bent the contacts wider. I had to do this every so often, once I'd start beeping while I was driving, I'd take it off, then the next chance I got, bend the contacts again. Good luck.

Also check the horn relay. Mine had a contact inside the relay that was deformed. I was able to open the relay and rebend the contact.

Re: my horn has a mind of it's own

If anyone could supply a parts number for the horn switch assembly on an 84 Z28 that would be awesome. If not I'll start my own thread here in a day or two...
