Sorry stupid question...But the damn thing doesnt work, I dont smoke but have needed it for my cell phone charger.

Is there a fuse for it? I looked and didnt see one. Is there something common that goes out?

Hey..try pulling up the shift plate and check the connections down at the bottom. Do your interior lights come on when u open the door? Those are on the same circuit. If they do, its not the fuse. Check those connections, make sure their on. If they are, take a voltage tester and see if any voltage is going to it. If there isnt, split wire..or something to that extent. Also check ground.

You know what... my interior lights/cigarette lighter have never worked sence i bought the car. They dont come on when i open the door or turn the headlight switch. The owner before me had an alarm installed/removed before i bought it. I thought the lights didnt work because of something to do with that.

Is there a fuse for them? I coundnt see one in the box.

I checked again and cannot find a fuse for it. All the fuses are good the panel is full of fuses. There are two places where there is clips for a single prong fuse though. Ive never seen any like that, with just one prong.

 

It sounds like a fuse, and I've gone through that one quite a few times. It's a yellow "20" you're looking for.

 

You need to make sure the 20A "ACC" fuse is good. My car was the same way - the lighter shorted out and blew that fuse immediately so I had to disconnect the lighter body so all the other stuff would work. I even got another lighter body but the same thing happened. So my short must be in the wiring somewhere back there. You may not have a short, but check to be sure that the ACC fuse is good.

 

It works so does the dome light!

Long story I would rather not tell.

I have the same problem now, i need it for a temporary cd player, but too bad i have NO idea what you guys just talked about i wish i knew as much about cars as you guys do. Even though i have been into cars for many MANY! years now (i am 17) i still dont know ****. Its my damn parents, they never wanted me to get near fast cars, or do anything with them.

With my camaro, i want to mod it, but my dad says, "You got a car, now drive it like a car, you dont need any stupid little things or sound systems or more power" I wish the would just stop b****ing
