VATS module

VATS module

Are all VATS modules the same if not whats the diferance. I need one for an 89'Iroc motor what should I get? thanx

They are very different. Each one is programmed for one of 15 different key resistance levels. If you get a new one it has to be programmed & from what I've heard you can't reprogram a used one.are you installing the motor in a different car & do you have the original module, If not your best of buying a new one and getting it programmed then you will have to buy the matching key. Hope this helps

A new module will program itself to whatever resistor it sees on it's first power up. A used module must see the resistance code that it was programmed for to operate, and may not be changed.

Tim's right, they come blank, and learn the key's value upon power-up. GM won't take them back once installed.

When I bought one several years ago (before all of the .com & Dal etc), they were about $150.
