Self install an alarm or have a pro do it?
I have begun my endevor to install the alarm i bought. It has all the goodies and such (Hornet 533T). So far i have the parking light and power hatch wires spliced into. I am now getting into the door locks and the VATS. The more i do, the more i wonder if i should have a pro install it. A local shop quoted me $175.. that was for the works. Would you have it done for that price?

I wouldn't have it done for that much. I only charge about $100-125 to install an alarm like the 533T. Should only take about 30-40 minutes for a professional to install a standard full feature system in a 3rd gen f-body. Look around for better prices if you don't do it yourself. But make sure the shop has a good rep and even a MECP certified tech.

I have been shopping around. I have been quoted all sorts of crazy figures: $60/hr, $300, $200!!! This guy was the cheapest and he actully told me about the install and the warrenty that it comes with.
I must say this thing is a bear to install. Its a good thing that winter is here. The car has been in peices for 2 weeks now!!
