Hatch pull down wiring, please help
Hatch pull down wiring, please help
I have a 91 formula, the sweet plastic piece broke on the hatch pull down. I had some problems w/ the plastic sliders when i was trying to fix that and numerous other problems. IT was like 3 months later that i went back to fixing the hatch. Well it was so long that i forgot where all the wires went. If anyone could provide me w/ some pictures of there pull down and the wiring would be much appreciated. The only thing is the black wire on top of the pull down i believe it is power. I just need to know where it goes, i tried to ground it, but that did not work, please dont tell me i need to buy a new motor, i will cry
hehe. I think that is the same wire for the hatch button inside the car. Any help would be great, thanks, and sorry for the long post.

yeah...get in touch with Lon at top down solutions. he is the master of the hatches. He has really good replacment parts as well. The only thing I can tell you off hand about the wires, is there should be a red wire that is the power for the pull down. It should connect with the blue wire coming out of the relay. The black wire on top is for the "pop" motor I believe. But talk to Lon, he can tell you better. good luck...i hate my hatch motor.

The black wire with a black connector on it is for the solenoid release. The blue wire connects to the red/white wire for power. Be sure to connect the ground wire from the 10mm bolt (that attaches the solenoid to the latch) to the common gound location below on the body.
