Aux fan power... check lights?

I want to wire in a manual fan switch. Will this effect any warning lights? I am not sure if it will trigger any safety circuits leading to a check engine or whatnot.

Find your temperature sensor on the passenger side of the engine block below the 3rd spark plug back. Easier to see from the bottom. Splice a wire into this sensor's wire. Run the wire into the dash and to a switch of your choice. Run a wire from the other switches terminal to a good ground on the body somewhere under the dash. I used the lower dash attachment bolt above the hood release. (If the switch is lighted then run a hot wire from the IGN fuse to the hot terminal on the switch) Now you have control over your right fan. The fan works by the relay being grounded by the temperature sensor. You will not get any codes. Good Luck!

Would this method be better than just running a seperate circuit to the fans? Also, this will only turn on one fan correct? Would it be better to run both of them?

Is there a similar method to turn on the AC fan as well? Could i fake the AC being on somehow?

Having control over one fan is adequate unless the engine is heavily modded or has a poorly circulating radiator. Also consider installing a lower temp thermostat. I put a 160* in mine this weekend. Car runs very cool now, about 170* and never over 210* in idle. This method is the fastest way, safest way to take manual control because you will be using the existing power and relay systems that your car has in place. You are just taking manual control of the ground. Save yourself a lot of headaches and minimize the number of electrical circuits you add or splice into. Splicing a ground is fairly safe and easily reversable.
