how do I work this stupid thing, errr

ok so I have this mutitester and some good advise now I need to figure out how to use it, someone please tell me what this stuff means:

1. its a V with a line with 3 dashes under it. its range is (200m, 2000m, 20, 200, 600)

2. its a V with a little wavy line next to it. its range is (500, 200)

3. its an A with a line and three small dashes next to it, its range is (200u, 2000u, 20m,200m)

4. its an upside down horseshoe its range is(2000k, 200k, 20k, 2000, 200)

5. its a plus sign with an arrow pointing to its center on the left side.

If you're looking to test for 12v on (headlight maybe? ) wires, stick one probe wire (if it has that option) in the spot that has the VW, usually red around it as well, this is the +12v terminal (and also used for reading resistance or ohms)

The other probe wire plugs in the the spot that has COM by or under it along with the 3 bars that get progressivly smaller, this is ground.

Set the range (if it has one) to DCV, and, again if it has this option, set it above 12 volts. Mine has positions for 2, 20, 200, & 1000 DCV.

That should be all you need for checking for DC voltage on your car.

1) V--- means DC voltage
2) V~ means AC voltage (the wavey line represents AC)
3) A--- Means DC Current
4) A~ Meand AC Current

The horseshoe thing means Resistance in ohms
