Taillight Wiring Problems

hey guys, so i picked up a set of 91/92 Trans Am lights a while back. i just installed them last saturday (1.11.03) w/ the wiring harness from a '91 T/A. They worked fine for about 3-4 days, until last night, when i parked the car, shut it off, and noticed that the brake lights remained lit. the high-mounted 3rd brake light still functioned normally. but, i dont really care to drive down the road with this problem.

i figured it may have just been a problem w/ the new harness, so today, i swapped my stock base firebird tailights back in w/ that harness. same problem! now, i'm at a loss as to what could be causing it. everything is exactly as i had it before i swapped the T/A lights in.

if anybody has any ideas as to what could be causing this, i'd extremely appreciate the help.

-Pat

nm--it was just a problem with the brake signal sensor up front...

BlackBird.........where did you score those set of tail lights???...I have a 1992 Firebird also and have been loking for a set of them for months now.......was it a private owner purchase or junkyard find and how much did you pay for them??????....I live south of you and dont know of any bone yards up your way...and have never seen any 91-92 trans ams in these bone yards here but have seen regular firebirds in 91-92 yrs though, is it possible for you to keep an eye out for a pair for me..., and if you know of a bone yard with a set in it let me know asap.....chitowncruiser@hotmail.com.........

i actually picked them up from a guy who posted on the classifieds here @ thirdgen. paid $200 + shipping -- kinda steep, i know, but that's the basic going rate. i saw a pair right after i bought mine for $275 shipped, and i just recently saw a set go on ebay (within the past week) for $230 + ship. i'm actually still not sure if i'm gonna be keeping them. i've got to mess around with my wiring still. i have a '92, with a '91 harness -- different hatch motors. i'm gonna have to either put my car's hatch motor wiring on my T/A harness, or the turn signal socket from the T/A onto my firebird's harness. i'm dont have any experience in wiring, so i'm a little apprehensive to start cutting up my harnesses. but, chitowncruiser, if i do decide to sell them, you'll be the first to know.
