My 84 Z-28 had the 85 MPH cluster. I like the 160 because it looks similar to the original speedo.
I got a 145 MPH speedo out of an 86 camaro, I can't wait to put that in once the car is finished.

It's not hard at all. The hardest part is geting the cluster out of the dash.
Once you do that it's just two screws (if I remember right) holding the speedo in the cluster.
Just remember that some speedos are cable driven, others are electric. I think up untill 89 they were cable driven, after that I believe they were electric, but don't quote me on the exact dates.
But that is on the stock 145MPH gauge, I don't know about the 160MPH because I believe it is an after market gauge.

I think I saw in a McGiver show once a 200mph speedo in a 3rd gen (stock or rather "option" i guess). Anyone know anything about that. I would love to get my hands on one of those!!!

a while back I found a 240 MPH speedometer for a third gen. At first I thought it was just someone confusing 240 km/hr for MPH, but the picture has no km/hr on it, only MPH. Supposed to be from a special B4C package police car, very interesting, went for nearly 180 dollars too...it was just the speedometer. Still if anyone knows of a company that makes or still sells 160+ MPH 3rd Gen IROC gauges, let me know!!!

Can't find it

Hey, I went to Gale Banks site and can't find the speedo in question! Lots of turbos and such if I was running a diesel but no speedos. Not even the underwear kind!
A 200mph speedo sounds kinda cool so where can I really get one?
