Temp gauge problem

I just had my inst cluster out in order to change the headlight switch. Now that it's all back together, the temp gauge is intermittent. When it's COLD in the car, the temp gauge doesn't work. After the interior warms up, it starts working again. Did I damage the cheezy-assed PC board by handling? Broke a connection? I thinking of pulling the cluster again and retouching all the solder joints and cleaning the contacts where the cluster plugs into those dash connectors.

Suggestions? Thanks.

Does the gauge sweep alright when cranking the car to start ?
I'd make sure the connector at the sender was clean and tight 1st and then maybe spray some lithium grease on the even cheezier-arsed made gauge and put some di-electric grease on the printed board harness contacts (on the cluster) to assure good connections. The sender cold also be getting ready to take a dive. Just some thoughts, none gaurenteed to be correct though
