fan switch on block.....whereabout????

fan switch on block.....whereabout????

where abouts is the fan switch that goes into the engine block? passenger or drivers side? Is it under the exhaust manifold??

mine is on pass side, right below exhaust ports. Im pretty sure it has a green wire going to it, but it could be different on yours. Just check it, with ignition on, ground it out and see if the fan turns on...

It's on the passenger side head, not the block, and it's between #6 and #8 cylinders.

You might as well buy a new one if you plan on removing it or anything. I'd be willing to put a 20 spot down that you break it if you try. They're so brittle with age and heat it's almost unavoidable.

87 Buick GN fan switch is a good replacement, and I also recommend the JET fan switch.

my bad it is on the head.... just remembered i fried the wire on the top of my headers once.....

thanx guys. yeah im definetly going to put it up on a lift before i even attempt to take it out. Last thing i want to do is get under it and have it break on me while me under it. Any hints or tips at all?...any special things im sapost to know about??

Ya, Its much easier to yank the engine to get to it
