Headlights keep turning off for a few seconds

1985 trans am, and my headlights keep turning of after 10 minutes or so of driving they stay off for 10 secs and back on.......and 10 minutes later the process starts again, now the actuall headlight doesn't go down it just shuts the bulb off. Could this be the Headlight actuator? or resistor? and where is it located?

this happened to me in my beretta. it turned out to be the circuit breaker. it would overheat and shut off till it cooled down. don't know where it is on thirdgens but on my beretta it was part of the headlight switch assembly. do you hear an audible click when they shut off? I did.
