Turn Signal Return Problem
Turn Signal Return Problem
My left turn signal does not turn off or "return" in my '88 GTA. How do I go about solving this? Is there just some springs or do I need a new arm? Never pulled my wheel before.
Thanks.

There's a turn signal switch in the column with two springs. In GM columns it seems that the left spring always breaks. You can replace the switch for about $40 but if your lucky maybe you can find the spring itself. I had to replace the whole switch.

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
Replacement springs are inexpensive, under $4 up here ($2.50 or so in US bux). If your local auto parts place has a section of 'HELP' brand items, they'll be in there.

Got the springs replaced. Thanks for the replies.
Once I figured out how the remove the radio button insert I was able to get the wheel off okay. I had a hell of a time removing the wheel lock cover though. Not only did I have to buy the U shaped tool but the ring was a bitch to pull out of there.
I guess I'll be going through that again to change the damn hazard switch. It won't stay in.
