Dead starting
I have a 89 rs and the cylinder ignition has already been replaced along with the alternator and about 3 starters. Sometimes when I try and start the car after a run in town the motor wont even turn over and everything will stop as if it were trying to start, radio, cooling fan, etc. but nothing will happen just silence. At first I thought it was the starter from heat shock but I have a shield on it now and the alarm system has been taken off. The wierd thing is that if I jump it from another car it will start so its telling me that I have a bad connection somewhere??? Can anyone help me with this? thanks!

it sounds like a bad battery conection, make sure the terminals are clean and tight
check and clean grounds, clean engine to frame ground.

Checked
Yeah the connections are tight, and I have a new motor in it so its as clean as it can be. I have had this problem ever since owning this car though.

how old is the battery?
check the fluid in it?
some times they get a dead cell and cant provide enough current to start the car.
also if the car isnt driven that often or only on short trips the alt doesnt have enough time to charge the batt.
