Installation of new alternator

Ok, I needed a higher amp alternator so I did some searching and research and decided to go with the GM 140 amp unit like the police cars had. I found out about a bracket that is needed and collected the parts.

My question is has anyone done this? If so, does anyone have a few pics? I have only done comparisons so far and it does not seem like this will all work on the car. 92 Z-28.

Like I said I did not remove the old alternator yet, only takes 3 minutes anyway. It seems to me that the bracket does not fit around the new alternator like it should. I may be wrong about the installation, but what else could this be for?

Thanks in advance.

BTW the P/Ns are GM #s in case it matters.
