Electrical Problem?????

Electrical Problem?????

Car wont start. The check engine doesnt go on and i dont hear the fuel pump prime. But there is power cause all lights work and the gauges are working too. Need help on how to check the ecm to see if it is working. thnx . (the stareter is cranking the engine but it isnt firing

The first place to start would be the ECM/Fuel pump fuse. It would help to know what vehicle/engine you have, since the location of the fuse depends upon the engine/year/vehicle.

Oh sry it is a 85 camaro z28 tpi . And the fule fuse is good. also i am getting a new ecm tommaro i cause autozone told me that it was probaly the ecm . So i will post if it is the problem. O also i found a superchip in my ecm anyone know if that is stock or after market??? Thnx.

The 'power source' fuse for the ECM and FP relay is under the hood, (most of the time) directly off the positive battery cable in a weather pack connector with a 20A fuse. The FP fuse under the dash is not the fuse Vader is referring to I believe.

Hey thnx alot but i checked the 20a fuse near the battery and it is bad but i did change it . Still car wont start and i can hear the fuel pump after i turn the key and try to crank it but not before and the ecm clicks for a sec when i turn the key on also when i turn off the key it makes that click. I think it is the ecm so. all let u know today thnx.

The two-second prime cycle of the fuel pump is driven from the ECM, so the ECM isn't totally dead. Is the SES lamp any good?

Hey it was the ecm just got one from advanced auto and that was the problem after all. if i only new at the begining .. Thnx guys for all the help though.
