rebuilding a distributor
i have an 86 z-28. it has an electronically advancing distributor. there are no vaccum lines going to the distributor. the distributor has about 140,000 miles on it. and i ahve recently put in a worked 350. are there any componets that i could replace with new ones besides a cap and rotor?
if so could u list the parts, or a site i could go to?
thanks

I recently rebuilt the distributor in my 86 TA. I replaced the Ignition Module, Radio Interference Capacitor and the pick up coil. All of these parts can be found at Advance Auto . Of course, changing the pick up coil requires removing the distributor and pushing the roll pin out and removing the gear.

Yep, replace the cap, rotor, pickup coil, module, advance springs (if there are any), and coil. You can get all of those parts at any auto parts store, or you can go to summit anf buy them. I've found out that you can usually buy performance parts from summit for just about, or a little more than what the auto parts store will cost.
