12 yr old Carbine alarm

I have not been able to use the alarm on my car for a long time b/c everytime I arm it, it will go off by itself a few hours later.

I bought the car last year, but the owner manual for the alarm was incl in all the paperwork. Its a magnadyne carbine system.

Not too bad. Has infrared sensor.

Anyway...is it worth troubleshooting? Or should I junk it and get something newer? Anything that would be the most likely problem?

Re: 12 yr old Carbine alarm

You've got the right idea yank the old system and install something newer. The install should be quick & easy since all the needed wires that you'll need to splice into have already been located.

Cool...thanks...sorry for long time to reply. Yeah I was thinking of just splicing in a newer unit but was worried that its not the unit at all, but a grounding problem instead.

I'll prob just get a new alarm and be done with it
