why do i keep blowing fuses...

why do i keep blowing fuses...

the fuse that powers my windows,locks,inerior lights,etc.... blows every time i plug in the cigarette lighter



what could be wrong?

Your lighter is shorting out and blowing the accessories fuse. Could be a bad wire, could just be the **** that builds up in car lighters. Pull that thing out, make sure the wires are in good shape, and if you so desire, put another one in.

no, smoking isnt my thing.....actually i wont let ANYONE smoke in my car...

i use it for the interior neons and recharging my cellphone

i'll check the wires and clean it up....thanks for the advice

mine popped the fuse when i plugged in the cig lighter as well. works 100% when i just it to charge my phone though. ive also herd that its becuase ther is ish built up inside the female end of the cig lighter.

Hey i'm sorta having the same problem except nothing is plugged in my cig lighter but everytime i put the fuse in it'll work for like a second, but once i start the car the fuse blows. And if i do plug the cig lighter in the fuse just blows everytime i put it in, do u guys know what's going on? Thanks.

Disconnect the cigarette lighter, make sure the wires are clean, not stripped or worn out and not touching anywhere. Put a new fuse in, see if it blows. If not, you found your problem.
