Custom battery cable...(not relocating battery)
Is there any place I can get a custom battery cable made up for a side terminal battery??? I did a search on tgo.org but couldnt find anything. Id prefer a battery cable that looks "clean"....meaning it doesnt look like a 2 year old made it. Long story short my postive cable for my 91 Firebird is no good..I "had" fusible links coming off of it ect ect and I cant find any part store that can sell me another one....and yes...GM stopped making the postive cable. Anyway..heres my idea. Tell me what you guys think. Im gonna run just a regular postive battery cable from the battery to the starter w/the additional small postive wire to the alternator. Now I was thinking of running a second postive wire right off the battery. Kinda like some of the GM 3.8 motors. They have two big wires coming off of the battery..one goes to the battery/alternator and the other goes to the what I can only call a "postive block." Sorry I dont know what to call it. I had a old Lumina minvan in work that was going to the bone yard so I cut the one wire that was going to the "postive block" and figured this would bring me one step closer to my set up. Anyway..all opinions are welcome...If you guys have a better idea for me I'll be more than willing to listen. Hopefully somebody out there can work with me (over the internet) and I can start making progress on my car.

I found these the other day: http://www.sounddomain.com/shoptype/Battery+Terminals One o fthose should allow you to run 2 heavy gauge wires and make it look good too!
I did that to my car. I used a very heavy duty distribution block right off the battery terminal. One thick *** (0 guage) wire goes to the starter, another 0 guage wire goes to the back of the car to the amps (yes they require a lot of power), one 4 guage wire goes to the alternator and another 4 guage wire goes to the "rest of the car". Meaning, I connected to those 4 or 5 wires that those fusible links you were talking about were connected to. Of course all these wires coming off the distribution block are fused (except the starter and alternator). I'll take a picture of the setup later today if you want to see....
