Lights go off when i hit brights

This started about a week ago.It works fine on low beam but when i hit high beams they go out and just the fogs stay on.Do i need to replace the whole turn signal switch?I VERY seriously doubt both high beams burned out at the exact same time.Thanks,chris.

Shortly after I bought my car, I was driving at night. I hit the high beams only to see blackness--scared the hell out of me! The problem is probably the high beam/low beam switch (stupidly, I can't think of the correct name at the moment), located on the steering column under the kick panel. It's a pain to replace because of location. I dropped my steering column a bit, which provided more room to work.

It's the Dimmer Switch... it's on the steering column by your feet and has a metal rod that comes down from the wiper/turnsignal switch to activate the brights. Napa $15 and a PAIN IN THE **** to get to the 2 bolts.... you have to adjust it right also.
