Help, smoke is coming out of the buttons!!!!
OK, i was driving to work this morn and noticed small wiffs of white smoke coming out of the dash panel where the fog light, defrost, and trunk switch are.
It wasn't pouring out or anything but occasionally would come out. It started when i turned the fan dial for the ac.
I haven't had time to pull it apart as this happened on my way to work and i don't have the hex bit i would need to get it off.
Does this sound like a frayed wire or am i going to be running new wires throu the whole car???

ok, i think i figured it out, there was prob a different radio in the car and when they put the original back in they did a rush job and didn't get all the wires wrapped. cause i just noticed the plate around the radio is loose.
I'm gonna take it apart this weekend and find out for sure thou. wish me luck.
Hope fully it'll make it home and not explode in a shower of sparks. <knock on wood>

ok, i pulled it apart on my break and it's coming from the AC controls. There's some kind servo or relay(round, looks to be where the AC control arms connect)
So i guess i'll be hitting the junk yard saturday.

ok, replaced the a/c control and it seems to be ok. I pulled apart the old one and the copper contacts inside were corroded bad, I think it just wore out.
