Can't start my car!!

Ok so I just finished putting my headers on and I've been having some problems with starting the car before they were done. Well now that they are done of course I can't start the car...
I think the problem is either in the ignition switch or the safety neutral switch (that thing that only lets your car start in park or neutral).
So tomorrow I'm going to go out and get both of those from my dealer.
Is there anything else that might be causing this problem??
please let me know if you think of something between now and tomorrow.

Could be the wires in the lock cylinder as well. My friend had to change his a couple of months ago since one of the wires broke off.

it doesn't even crank over. The lights and everything on the dash come on but there is nothing.

ok I got the problem solved. for anyone who wants to know, my car alarm somehow got a wire pulled and was touching something which was keeping the car from even turning over. So I pulled the whole car alarm out and now it works fine.. Odd isn't it?

I would check the Ntrl Safety Switch first... quick and easy to check.. pull the harness off it and make sure the you have continuity in park and ntrl. If you do, it is not the switch. (I just had to take care of a wiring issue with the ntrll safety switch in mine... I have an B&M Shifter and the wire slipped off.)

Good luck.

check wires around starter solenoid, sometimes headers fit so tight that you dont realize it but the starter wires are touching the headers and grounding out, and while your at it you mine as well wrap the starter and solenoid because the heat from the headers will stop it from cranking when its hot also after you have driven it around some

I had a similar issue happen on my 89. Ignition switch was bad, so for a week until I had the time and money to get to the dealer, I was starting the car with a push button start tool. You know, what they use to bump the motor when outside of the car, lol. It was a good laugh for us when I told the dealer how I got it there, lol.

And yeah, alarms are funny that way, lol.
