High Beams not working right need help!!

This isn't on my car but a nissian pathfinder. Low beams work fine both come on but when you switch to high beams only one light comes on bright the other goes out completly. I'm thinking it's some where in the wire. I used a test light on the connector and all I get is a dim light. Any ideas??

First of all pull the one that is working and plug into the connector of the one that isnt and see if it works properly to see if its not just a bad headlight, that should tell you then whether its a wire problem or not

yes the light bulbs do work I've tested them. I'm pretty sure that its in the wiring, just wanted to make sure. It couldn't possably be the switch could it if one side works?? Head lights are wired up in a parallel circuit correct which leads me to believe that the problem is between the passenger side headlight which works and the driver side which does not. I'm lead to belive that it's a short to ground cause when I touch a test light to the bad side all I get is a dim light.

I just want to make absolutly sure that it is the wiring and nothing else that could be causing it because to get to the wiring harness I have to remove the radiator
