problems installing new deck

so i bought a sony minidisk player for my iroc, my original stereo was working fine before i pulled it. there are two wires together in the back of it that one is brown and the other is orange. can anyone tell me what these wires are for? then i have the wiring harness adapter for an easy instal. everything seems to be there but now it wont even power on. any ideas? what color wire is the constant 12 volt lead?

Typically, if I'm not mistaken, your constant power is yellow. The best way to establish what is what down there is to get a dummy light and check them.

Sorry, when I said yellow, that is the color of my deck's constant power wire. The constant from the car is orange and the memory is red. As for the brown, I'm not sure. Hope that helps a little.
