best place to get an alternator?

i need a new alternator. whats the best brand and place to buy one. should i get something that puts out more amps then stock?

i work at napa, so of course i'm more inclined to say napa alternators......

they probably have the alternator in stock, and if not, can have it usually the next day. at my store, we also check two nearby stores if we don't have it in stock.

strauss has a 90 something dollar alternator w/ a lifetime warrenty. planning on getting it tomorrow unless someone knows a reason why i shouldnt.

I'd take it apart and fix whatever is broken, but thats me. Otherwise I kinda like the NAPA gold(I think they call it) alternator.

picked up a remanfucatured at carquest because it was the only one in my area that had one in stock. no other store had one. its only got a 1 year warrenty, i hope it lasts, or if it doesnt, fails withen a year lol. it was 92 bucks.

carquest has a good reman,used 'em for years,very little probs.yellowdart speaks the truth,autozone,pep boys and advance electrical parts are cheap but not dependable( unless you enjoy swapping alternators frequently 'cause you WILL if you go those routes). you should be ok.
