Interested In Buying a Proform Shift Light
Hey Everybody, I've heard that these Proform Shift Lights are well worth the money and are very nice. I would like to buy one for my 91 Z28 5.7...but I really have no idea how to hook something like this up. (don't really wanna cut into my wiring) I'm currently running an MSD-6A Ignition System and I think someone said that it could just hook right into that. So.....does this really let me set my own shift points? If anybody has any info, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a ton

the green wire you can hook right to your MSD box in the extra port...its the tach port
the red wire needs to go to power
the black wire needs to go to ground
---thats it
all you do is turn the dial in the back as to what rpm you want the light to shift

This doesn't mean that the shift points for an auto-tranny are going to be adjusted.

I received my shift light today....I did a quick hook up to see if it would come on....it did..but it flashed like 3 times...then went out....everytime I un-hook it..and hook it back up....it does this. Is this a normal thing? Again...I haven't hooked it up permanently yet....I just wanted to see if it would come on and stuff. Thanks

I didn't find anything about this on their website. My guess would be that it flashes on startup to show that it's working.
Looks like you can ask them tech questions directly.

I'll be interested to hear how it works for you. I'll probably be getting one so I can shift my auto manually without looking at the tach.
