ok heres the deal ive got a 90 formula and sometimes when i turn on my lights they turn on but they dont come up but a few minutes later they sometimes will spring up. but the actual headlights do turn on they just dont come up. im wondering if this is an electrical problem somewhere or if there is another relay i dont knwo about...

note:both motors are good because sometiems they work just fine for days....and thy are new

any help would be great

headlight relay or switch itself most likely.

The problem is the OEM bushings inside the large nylon gear have disintegrated. These were made of gel material. You can easily repair them using the TDS 209280 Deluxe Hedlight Repair Kit that I manufacture. Here is a link to the instructions I include with the kit.

Nope. They are inside the large nylon gear. They fill the space between the nylon gear and the 3-lobe cast zinc hub that is on the actuation shaft. The worm drive of the motor drives the outer teeth of the large nylon gear. The gear drives the hub which is on a shaft which attches to the arm which raises/lowers the headlight. When the OEM gel bushings go bad they crumble into a spoonful of chunks or powder (depending on how bad they are). At that point the gear will free-wheel on the hub and the hub won't be able to raise/lower the headlights properly. Sometimes the chunks will engage the hub and it will go up. Replace them with the precision-machined Delrin bushings in my kit and it will work every time. Make sense now?

The rebuild kit is great and if you have new motors you definately need to get two of the kits. One for each headlight. Worked great on mine which was doing the same thing as yours. Now they work perfectly.
