This isn't really the right forum for this question, but they will also rip you a new one if you go onto the PROM board and ask for somebody to burn you a chip.

Instead of locking this or moving it, I'm going to keep it open (for now) so that people can respond to your speed limiter issue. There is still some valuable tech content in regards to that.

I would suggest you read the PROM burning articles in the tech section of the website and spend some time reading up on the PROM board. Burning your own chips can be rather intimidating at first, but for simple changes like you are attempting, it's a no-brainer, and the equipment costs less than paying somebody to burn one for you.

But... you should do research first. TPI thirdgens don't use a speed limiter of any kind.

ahh, yes they did. If the car didn't come with speed rated tires from the factory they had a speed limiter in the chip (115 mph I think it was)

Unless you put speed rated tires on your car and can prove it to the person doing your chip, they shouldn't remove the limiter, it is there to keep you from killing yourself and others.

Well then, I guess I learned something new today. I've never heard that before, but I suppose it makes sense.

I guess I'm just used to being around the cars with the 16" wheels.
