Rear Defroster

Anybody know of an aftermarket heat element kit for the rear window of a Camaro for the defoster other then the dealer. Would like to add that to my back window.

I already have the switch installed, ground pig tall, and tabed rear window struts.

Thanks

You would have to get a replacement hatch glass that aready has the elements in it. The glass has the elements baked on at the factory and they cannot be added otherwise without a good deal of heat. Your best bet is to go to either eBay or a local junkyard and get a hatch that already has the elements.

Sounds like a future project, don't have the cash for that.

There are places that do RV windows so I might try and see what a cutom job would cost.

JC whitney sells auxilery heaters that work off coolent. You could rig up a vent system for the back hatch.

That sounds like a good idea having some put on, but I think I'll just go to the local junkyard and get the whole hatch. The main thing I want to know is whether the defroster can be used with tinting....

I think I'll just end up dealing with the frost for the time being then... my heater works perfectly...

i had all the components in my car when i got it, switch, relay, and wires, so i went to the local yard and got the whole rear hatch with defroster for only $10, and as far as i can tell all of the lines are intact, still havn't got it hooked up yet, but i plan on it in the spring.
