engine fire
Engine fire put me back a couple months with my car...and i have to replace all the wiring in the back of the engine....its a carb by the way so not that much wires. My question is should i just cut the burned wires off midway and continue with a new wire? like join em by those little yellow things that you crimp wires together with? what should i do

Try to avoid using those crimp things as they are not very robust, especially in a car. If you can pull new wire through the whole length of each connection then thats is best, but otherwise if you can splice in new lengths of wire using a soldering iron, and some heatshrink sleaving for insulation, then that would be perfectly fine. Remember to get the proper grade of wire for the replacements.

My car did the same thing bured up the harness in the back where the ground conects to the motor and spread all the way forward on the battery side. I replaced all of the burnt wires, and now she runs, but i think i may have gotten one or two wires crossed. so it can be done its just a long carefull process. Oh yeah my car is an 87 lg4 4bbl. so they should be similar. good luck!!!!!!
