Please help with Chip
Ok, i need to know how to convert that over to a v-8. Has anyone ever done it? Its out of a 90 Camaro, and i know someone has gotta have some brains. What resistor do i replace. I really dont feel like going out and spending half of my savings on a stupid chip. Thanks

That chip is located right in your actually gauage pod, on a 90-92 car. I am pretty sure it tells the tachometer what kind of engine it has. Right now, it is set up for a v-6. Usually, you just change a resistor. WEll, i dont have a v-8 one around, nor is there a v-8 car at a junk yard that i can find. So i just need someone to take some resistance readings or something.

well if you want to change it just for the tach there is other options. ive seen the electronic boxes you can purchase and program that a lot of people use. there are mechanical ones too

That chip is what determines the v-6 from a v-8 IMO from what i can infer. That chip, now, is right below the tachometer inside the gauage pod. Anyone with a 90-92 Maro should have seen it. Now if i can get someone with one of them years with a v-8 to take some resistance tests, we would be able to help out the next person who gets in trouble.
