Mounting an aftermarket ignition
Hey guys, where are all of you mounting your MSD's or boxes like them? I can't seem to find a good spot to mount my box and that is what is delaying the install of mine. I have a Crane HI-6 with coil to install. Any recomendations would be great. I still have have AC if that helps with recomendations.
Thanks

Hey man looks good. Did you have it mounted there before you took out the A/C? If not could you recommend any other places for it?
Thanks man,

88txiroc,
Did you just mount the box right over all the hoses and stuff there with a little standoff? Looks nice and neat also.

MSD GM Blaster Coil
When mounting an MSD GM Blaster Coil to replace the original stock GM Blaster Coil, must it be attached to the intake manifold bolts? I'm assuming GM mounted it there for a good connection to ground, but I wanted to mount mine on the firewall right next to the distributor. However, I am unsure if the ground is good enough there.
So, in short, Does the magnetic core of the blaster connect to ground?
Thanks.

I woulkd not leave anything ungrounded, specially ignition components. Anyways this is where mine is installed:

My MSD box burned up so I am not using it now but it is still wired. The other red thing is the Tach Adapter.

I mounted mine like 88txiroc on my 91 Formula, fabbed up a small plate and L brackerts, sits right above the battery in the front corner on the driver's side.

If you're really ate up in the head, you can rewire the whole engine bay and mount it here...

I mounted mine like deadbird. I am also a little crazy in the head. I have a HI-6 ignition, it seems to be a little larger than the MSD, but it fits.
