I have installed a Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror as well as the proper connection.

The only wire that is NOT hooked up yet is the Green Back up light wire. I am having a hard time finding it.

1. Does anyone know where exactly it is located on a 89 camaro or how to test to see if it is backup wire?

2. The mirror's power light does not light up. Do the all 3 wires have to be connected for the green light to come on or as long as power and ground are working the mirror should work regardless of the backup wire?

I would appreciated any suggestions.

Power and ground are all you need to make the mirror work, I just installed one of them in my 85. BTW I didn't hook up the reverse light wire to the mirror either.

 

Well, i guess the mirror is toast then. The light does not come on.

What in the mirror fails the most?

Play with the on off switch a bit, it may just have corroded contacts.
