V6 Tachometer

Car: 87 Chevy Camaro Iroc-Z
Engine: 305 4bbl
Transmission: Stock T5 with hurst billet shifter
V6 Tachometer

I have searched for a couple of hours about this with no clear answers.

I have 4 camaros, 2 for parts, 1 for restoration, and another for performance. 1 of the parts cars is a V6, and i took the gauge cluster out of it, right now i have a V6 tach and a V8 tach sitting in front of me, and from what i have read on the fourms it is either a resistor or a capacitor that needs to be changed to make the V6 tach work with a V8, so does anybody know which component needs to be changed, and what the value is for that component?
