Radio Fuse

hey, I've a JVC KD-LX30 (the El Kameleon, if you care) aftermarket head unit installed on on my 82 Trans Am. The previous tape deck was installed by a previous owner with an old fashioned hack and tape, leaving all the wires demolished. I had to install the jvc on my own also not the best installation in the world. Two months went by fine, no problems but then two days ago, the fuse on the back of the head unit popped. A put another one in, and as soon as i reconnected the the head unit to the car, it popped, i mean, immediately. I have checked all the wiring, and none of the connections seem loose. Potential short within the head unit maybe? I really am lost, I am an electronics novice. Thanks for any suggestions.

Sounds like something inside is shorted.
