neutral safety switch location
neutral safety switch location
Have a 1991 Camaro rs - automatic. Where is my neutral safety switch located? How can I disable this switch, allowing my vehicle to start without it?

If it were me, I'd rather fix an issue related to the NSS than bypass it.
To me, they fall under the category of "the factory put them there for a safety reason." Same category as the impact bars.

true very true
thanks for your safety related commentaries. I am trying to by pass this switch so I can get myself down to the parts house and get a replacement! Can anyone be a little more specific in their assistance to me in this matter? It is my understanding this switch is running off the green and purple wires? And again, how can I "temporarily" disable this switch so I can go get the replacement I have ordered? I am not a virgin to repair but neither am I an expert - so layman terms and simple is a good approach. My husband is off serving his country and I am trying to cope with all of this alone.
Thanking any of you in advance who would like to be of some help!

Oh yea, Welcome to TGO!!
You are certain the NSS is at fault? I am gathering that the car is not starting. Basically, have you trouble shot things yet to narrow it down to the NSS?
As for the NSS, i believe they changed NSS wire colors for the 90-92 cars, not sure, but they sound right. The NSS itself is on the center console, just to the right of the shifter assembly.
