Have a couple of questions.

I just relocated my battery to the hatch....wired in a 2ga ground back there.....then i wired a 2ga power wire which I havent connected to the starter yet (have to find a 2ga crimp of some sort....any ideas?) The power wire had a 10ga lead coming off of it...I used this lead to send a 10ga wire to the power distribution box in the engine bay (next to the radiator...passenger side). I have the two red wires (one went to a 20 amp fuse on the passenger side fender...the other disappeared over by the AC box). I need to run a wire from this distribution point to the alternator...and I want to do so with a 6ga wire. Ive heard that I dont need a fusible link here........would I be alright just running a straight 6ga wire. If anything I guess I can add a regular fuse in there....but I rather not if I dont have to.

Second question....I have the 3 wires at the starter connected...but like I said...still havent connected the 2ga wire from the battery to the starter....what do these 3 wires control (there is one wire with a fusible link...and the other 2 share one). Reason I ask is because I thought that by connecting the 10ga wire I would get power inside for the interior lights and the power hatch...but I didnt...im assuming its because the power wire to the starter is hooked up...but I wanted to make sure. Any ideas what the two red wires at the power distribution box are for? I thought those went to the power in the car.

 

Best way to put connector on big wire is to solder it with a propane torch, couple layers of shrink tubing over it. No. 6 wire to alternator is fine, couple million older cars without the fuse link with no problems.
