Do you have some more info, like make, model, and year of the car, and location of this part?

It looks to me like it's on firewall on the passenger side to the left of the MAP sensor and near the heater box. Am I correct?

Its a 84 Pontiac Firebird with 5.0, Its located on the drivers sdie firewall next to the map sensor

Well i finally got a chance to go out to my car today, but i dont haave a vac resivore as shown in that pdf file you sent. i did follow the vac fitting off the back of the manifold, and it dose go to the vac ball under the drivers fender, along with some evap and heater control vacumme stuff, but no sign of the missing vac connection for the switch
