I have installed a painless harness in my 88 camaro, I am running a tbi fuel system, of course I have a ecm. My question is my 700r4 does not have a plug for vss, I do have part that I can install and hook my vss to it and still use the cable. My speedo is cable driven and I guess it has the vss that goes to the tach. I do have to replace the tach since it came out of a v6. So I am keeping cable speedo and changing tach. Do I have install vss that goes to ecm or ?

 

Your '88 Camaro speedo head should have the VSS installed in it. Pontiacs went to the transmission mounted VSS in 1986, and Chevtolet went to them in about 1990, IIRC. If you have a cable to the speedometer, you should have the VSS on the back of the speedo head.
