WTF? TPI swap, now no guages at all????

i swapped a 1990 TPI 5.7 into my 1991 original 305 TBI car, well i i have finally got the thing to live and breathe on its own and the guages dont work at all, none of them. i swapped the 145 electric guage cluster from the IROC as well. One question i have is do the wires from the guages run over to that 15 pin c207 connector??

someone told me that my underhood light is going to blow my ACC fuse everytime i put a fuse in it but i took a black and white wire out of the 15 pin c207 connector and now it doesnt blow, could this be the reason my guages dont work??

thanks
Barry

That white/black wire you disconnected is the diagnostic test input wire that goes from pin "A9" at the ECM to pin "B" of the ALDL diagnostic link under the dash. The wire that goes to the underhood light is the orange wire that goes into pin "M" of that fifteen pin connector.

http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=19

Scroll down, there are very detailed diagrams for 1990+ gauges towards the bottom of the page. Plus C207 and C100 pinouts. And also the gauge cluster pinouts.

Hope this helps.

Re: WTF? TPI swap, now no guages at all????

Hi everyone,
I am a new member and am not sure if i am in the right place. I drive a 1990 rs with a v8. One day my sepdometer stopped working (jumps between speeds). A mechanic told me that he thinks that i need to replace the cluster.
I was thinking about buying a used one on ebay. Is it an easy installation to do myself? Is there someplace where i can get instructions on how to do it? Is there anything else i need to know?
Thank you in advance :-)

Ross
