keys and ignition trouble
I was having problems with my key and ignition. First of all my car is a 1991 and should have the vats system but my key has no chip. the car starts and workd but every once in a while the security light stays on. secondly i can't turn the key to the acc position to listen to my radio, it only turns forward.
aside from that, is it possible to put a keyless entry setup from lets say a 97 camaro into my 91? the same key fobs and such? with the alarm and panic button? trunk button?
what would i need in order to do this if it is possible? i know i cant use the trunk release, i have a non power trunk in my 91 vert camaro.
thanks

To answer your first problem, someone has probably by-passed the VATS system in your car at some point prior to you getting it by putting a resistor in the wire harness under the dash.
secondly, the lock cylinder that was put in your car to replace the VATS lock cylinder might not have the ACC feature on it.
Thirdly, if you're going to install a heyless entry on the car. Why not just get an alarm system and install it.

from what ive heard here on the board, unless i spend a ton of money on an alarm, it's pointless to put it on a vert, they just cut the top and take whatever they want. I just wanted to use the newer key fobs like i have for my SS, i dont care about an alarm. my car is a mess with the wires everywhere, i have records of different wires being pulled out from the last owner their all over the place. i dont know where to start.
