Today I tore apart a PSone with flip-up screen, got out my Roto-Zip and soldering iron, and made it part of my car. I'm not sure if anyone has done this exactly the way I did it, but I'd thought I'd share and would like any comments. The machine is inside the console with the wires running up under the shifter behind the radio to the screen, the audio runs through the subwoofer stereo system, and a wireless gamepad for control. A press of a button powers up the whole setup at once. Great at drive-in windows and in traffic.
Is it just me, or is there something inherently ironic in playing Road Race 2001 while sitting in a stationary ThirdGen?
That sounds like something Toyota would try to push as an option - In a minivan.
Perhaps my idea of the hobby is unique, but I'd rather actually put the vehicle through the paces and get the feedbacak through the seat than run a color LCD road course off the battery. I do tend to have strange ideas at times.

hey did the PS screen have a bus line going from it to the system? or was it just wires??
It had two groups of very small (smaller than 24 gauge) and very short wires, alltogether about 20. One set sent the video, audio, and power to the LCD in an analog format. The other set sends the signal from the "line-in" video and returns the audio to the headphone jack on the console (because the screen has speakers molded on each side that I roto-zipped off). I had to cut the wires and run longer intermediate ones between the connectors. Behind the LCD is the supporting digital circuitry. If I had just wanted to mount the LCD in the dash, I would have had to deal with a bus connection.

DJ,
I love that shifter and I dont like many of them lol
$240 from Summit, it might be on its way soon :-) For the Formula at least.
Like the dual gate look with the 4 spd integration.
Its almost as neat as the Lightening Rods I had in my 442(still have them)
later

I'm not dissing him, it obviously required alot of time and effort, and I definitely can respect that. I was just agreeing that at least in my car I don't find myself longing for a radio, except maybe on the freeway.
