Is lowjack draining my battery?
First off let me say that I did not put the lowjack in my car, the previous owner did. If my car sits for a few weeks, the battery will drain and I am not able to start my car without charging it. Is the lowjack draining my battery? They do work when the car is off and from what i understand do not have there own seperate battey. Please help
TIA

Follow this link..it has good info on measuring parasitic draw,
and how long you can expect to let your car sit before the battery will drain.

That thread got pretty technical.
What I did when I had your problem was had a friend start pulling fuses one at a time while I had the DMM in series at the POS battery cable until I found the circuit that was causing the draw.
It turned out to be my hatch motor was staying open and needed replacing,
If it is your lojack, then you may not see a drop from doing the fuse pulling thing as it is probably not on your fusepanel circuit. (at least mine isn't on my vette) they have their own fuse setup.
I do have to keep the vette charged if I leave it in the garage too long before driving it after having the lojack installed, fyi.
I put a optima deep cycle in it a long time ago to avoid needing to replace the battery so often.
You can discharge those things so many times without damaging them it's crazy.
Hope this helps,

I practically brought my battery back from the dead, It wouldent start at all it wouldent jump start, I put it on quick charge it did nothing. I added a little bit of distilled water (dont yell lol) and put it on my tricle charge for 2 days and it was as good as new. It has been holding out longer then it used to.
