Headlights work.brake lights work..no other lights come on.

I just replaced the brake bulb that had died and now only my brake lights and headlights work.
this may be unconnected though because the other day my lights where behaving funny.

recently took off the spoiler and there's been rain getting in the back..

Everything else is dead. No tailights. no sidelights..
headlight motor doesn't work.

I know the headlight switch was dieing..I think maybe it's now toast...
but when I check for relays???!!! and fusible links??!!!! what the hell do they look like?

I've got my haynes and test equipment but where do I start?

I've done some thread searchs but I'm not familar with a lot of the jargon in them..

any help is appreciated.

I've also got a nest of wires where my stereo never was.
There's some strange black wire appeared on the drivers side near the tool kit..
There's some strange Brown wire running out of the passenger tailight but going no-where.

beside's buying a new car any suggestions?

here are some more symptons

the motors on the headlights whirl when I switch the lights on but nothing else happens.

all the sidelights and I assume tailights come on when I press the brake pedal?

where and which ground should I check.

If someone can just give me a link to a thread or any pointers with this..I'm gratefull.

electrics baffle me...
