Wiring problems
Hi, I own a 1986 Trans Am and I'm having problems with my headlights. The lights work, but the headlight lamps dont go up or down. I have to manually put them up and down and it gets to be a pain. Also, my brake lights and turning signals work, but when my headlights turn on, my tailights dont turn on at all. Whats wrong. And no interior lights come on either on the dashboard when I turn my head lights on. It's totally dark in there and I cant see. It sucks! There is also a button on the dashboard for the brights and when I push it in, no light lights up on the dashboard and the brights dont work. And finally....lol... my horn doesn't work. When I push on it, it just makes this ticking noise. Please help. Thank you.

Check all the fuses and connections and bulbs first. The headlight motor relays could be bad, or the fusible links could be blown. The horn relay could also be bad. Check these first.
Where in michigan are you?

THANKS!!
Thank you very much. My tailights and my dashboard lights work now after I put in a new fuse in the tailight hole.

Wow, its been a while for this one.
I still remember some of this though.
His taillight problem was caused by a bad fuse. He simply replaced it and that was that.
His headlight motors were not working because 1 side(passenger IIRC) had the relay and harness totally cut out. The driverside was missing the relay, and the third relay, which should be near the radiator support, on the passenger side, was also missing. I dont know if he ever got them working or not though.
