dizzy prob

just recently my formula will "hiccup". as drive along it will cut out like someone turned of the key and the SES light comes on and then it will come back again like normal. it does this at random and sets no codes.

im "thinking" its the pickup inside the dizzy. when it happens all gauges stay solid as if nothing happened. also for reference, i was having a prob with it starting and thought it was the module and found it to be the 2 wires that go to the pickup. i tap te 2 wires, drop the cap and all is good.

hasnt done this in a while but im thinking this issue contributes to the current problem.
it also seems to do it upon fire up and when everything is still cold and will do it less or almost none after warmed up. it does it at mid-lower and lower RPMs also it seems.

a new pickup is about $11 but id rather be sure than pitch parts at it.

Based on the info that you gave, I would definitly say it's the pickup. Code 12 technically is "No Distributor Refence Signal."

So, bad pickup, no refernce signal, SES light with "no codes"
