VSS signal under dash? What connector/wire?

1991 Z28 w/305 TPI motor.
Need to tap into the VSS signal. Is there an accessible connector (understand: without disassembling half of the dash) inside the vehicle that I can easily use?

Did a search, did not come up with anything that would answer this particular question.

Thx
Lou

i don't have a wiring diagram handy, but i think the connectors that tie the engine/ECM harness in with the car under the dash over near the ECM should work. seems like one side of the connector is white.
seems like i have seen you post you have a wiring book, if so that should have the wire you need listed.

There is no connector under the dash for the VSS in your car. It is two wires (yellow & purple) that run straight to pin "B9" & "B10" of your ECM from the VSS in the transmission.

Some older models have the VSS on the back of the speedometer.

thanks again Trickster, i don't know why but i was thinking he was needing to tie into the output signal from the the ECM
maybe it was the dozen or more questions i was answering for someone in a live chat for their cruise control.

it seems the older i get, the more i have a one track mind,...
