cruise control connector on TBI
i have a 89 305 tbi auto. cruise hasnt worked AT ALL since i had it.
i read the tech article but it was a tpi car. i looked under the dash for anything resembling the connector this guy had pictured. i found something similar, only this has a 2-prong connector. the wires did run in the cruise switch's general direction.
i unhooked this, and ohmed it out (the same way the guy did on his tpi). i got infinate resistance. so...
1... was this even the right connector?
2... if so, does this mean the switch is bad?
thanks ahead of time...

There are two connectors under the dash for the cruise control. One is for the multifunction lever on the steering column. The second one has about four to six wires to it and hangs just below the steering column and runs through the bulkhead to the cruise control unit under the hood.

pink w/ black stripe
grey w/ black stripe
grey
blue
those go into the female connector. the male connector has 2 prongs, and the wires are wrapped together in black.

does that make any sense???
if it were VATS related, my starter wouldnt engage with that unhooked, right?
