Fan Won't Shut Off
my fan just randomly started started to run all the time while the key is on. there are no blown fuses, no codes from the ecm, and no frayed wires as far as i can see. the only thing i can think of is the wiring may have been crossed or something when i reconnected the connectons at the starter after dropping my oil pan. does anyone have the diagram or how the fan is wired, and also know where the fan relays are located? thanks in advance.

I also have a problem with the primary fan running all the time and I have tracked it down to the fact that I just did the R134A conversion on my car and did not replace the HI & LO pressure switches over from the old R12 system. The fan relays for your car are located on the driver side firewall next to the fuel pump relay.

On your A/C line the runs the pass side framerail, there is a harness plug with a blue and a black wire on it. (similar to pic attached... rearview from pass side)
Unplug this and ground the terminal that corrolates with the blue wire.
If your fan(s) stop running, the pressure switch is bad.
If the fan(s) still run(s), there could be a break in the circuit somewhere, a relay has fried its contacts together (not too uncommon.. especially with the FP relay) or, your car is going to catch fire in the next few weeks from an electrical short.
Heh.. j/k on the last one

alright, thanks guys, i'll check that out. also, trickster, i only have a single fan, does that change anything, or it's still the same (assuming that by primary fan, you were talking about a dual set up, if not, i'm just dumb and ignore this, haha.)

Yes I have the dual fan setup and that is why I mentioned the primary fan. The location of your relays is still the same as I mentioned in my post. If you had the dual fan setup there would be three relays there instead of two,

A smart person would have seen your user infor under your avaqtar and seen TBI for your motor and realized single fan. But, I sure as ____ am not claiming to have any brains.
Regardless, the single fan should operate just as the primary would on a dual fan car (excluding the ECM turning it on part).
